One of our parents was faced with going blind from glaucoma and her spouse passing away.  Besides having to deal with those two challenges, she needed to figure out how to maintain her home.

Katie's mom and dad had moved from their two story home into an open concept one story ranch.  Her parents, as a team, had been able to manage all the household tasks and upkeep for the house.  They considered moving to a 55+ community in the future.  Before they could do that, Katie's dad passed away.

 

Tasks that had been doable now became very difficult to almost impossible – updating for accessibility, yard work, housekeeping, shopping, etc.  Living over an hour away made it difficult for us to be there for the tasks that come with owning a home.

 

The house was eventually sold and Katie’s mom moved into a 55+ community.  Now, in her upper 80’s, she continues to live independently.  She has someone to do her shopping and cleaning.

​Katie's mom KNEW her home, KNEW her neighbors and could move and function within that home with relative ease.  Even as her sight continued to deteriorate, she would have been able to stay in her home with just a few of the services we offer.
